Meryem Günay, who completed her undergraduate education at Ankara University Faculty of Law in 2002, finished her postgraduate education in Private Law at the same university in 2007, earning a master’s degree. She is currently continuing her doctoral education in Public Law at Kocaeli University Institute of Social Sciences. She started her career in 2002 with a legal internship at the Ankara Bar Association, and in 2013, she worked as a lawyer at the European Court of Human Rights. While providing services in all branches of law, her specific areas of expertise include Maritime Law, Concordat Law, Commercial Law, Law of Obligations, Individual Application Law, Family Law (Divorce/Alimony), Real Estate Law, Condominium Law, Foreigners Law and Criminal Law. She currently works as a lawyer registered with the Istanbul Bar Association and a data protection consultant. Günay, who holds ISO certifications, also has an EU GDPR Data Protection Officer certificate and has documented her expertise in personal data protection.
She has books written on various subjects and many articles. She has a good command of English.
